PW: I plan to analyze from the book, the picture in page 42. The picture shows, Biti Rose Nasoni smiling and selling doughnuts in a plastic bag to a man with the help of CARE. I don't have personal connection to the photo, it's just that the fact that Biti Rose Nasoni is happy and making money is just amazing.
P.W: Refuction Prompt on Moodle How was it? As my first essay in college, I somehow really liked it. It is definitely more interesting when you write about yourself. Of corse I didn't feel like writing between 2 to 5 pages but while written, I didn't realized how much I actually wrote. What did you like? I liked the part of digging through memories to even find more interesting personal experiences. I really liked reading the 3 stories and find the comparison at least in on of the stories to my personal life and experiences. But in general, I really liked my results at the end. What was challenging? What was challenging is talk about yourself and finding old memories. How was writing about personal experiences in an academic class? Personal experiences are usually very unique and special because they aren't the same same as the others. Its also a way of getting to know each other better.

Pg. 11 This quotes stands out to me, because I would put money into that program. Woman who smokes are not conscious...
9/12/17 PW: How do you feel about your draft? What would you ideally like out of this workshop? I honestly feel ok about it, I do need help concerning my introduction and first paragraph because I have a lot of information but I just don't know where to place them. I just need like a better plan than the two plans that I have already made, even thought they aren't completely complete. I would ideally like obviously a good grade but also maybe at the end make my mother read this essay because I would like to make her happy but also make her understand that I understand what we both went through.

Add a bit more on paragraph #2. - Not finished  INTRODUCTION -  I never knew I would of come this far with a language I didn’t know existed in this world that I now use everyday in my life. Connect and Interact with ideas one author from this unit.  Practice Write PROMPT Relationship to the English Languages: - Only learned one English, which is the English they taught in Singapore when I was younger. - Created new relationships and meet people I've never could have met with my English. - Could have learned any other English Languages, but I was taught with the English they use in Singapore (they might be using a specific tone)  = it wouldn't have matter which English because, English in general is the most spoken language in the world, so people would understand most part of what I am saying.  - The English I speak has a small French accent to it, not too much thought. - I would say the language is only half part of me just because I speak it, even though...
Which of the 3 authors for today did you enjoy reading most? Why? Any personal connections? I really liked the three of them but my favorite one was the Malcolm X. The reason why is because, I found it interesting how he self-educated himself to read and write because he was frustrate for not being able to express himself and understand the story behind any book that he read. His motivation, inspires me to keep learning and pushing myself to the fullest. I wish he was still alive today and I wish I had the opportunity to talk to him about everything that he learned. It would be fine for me to sit and listen to him, for a while because at the end of the day, I know that I would be learning something.
Pre-reading Prompt with A Path Appears by Nicolas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn 1) Using your Practice Write and notes from the class brainstorm, tell me what pre-reading strategies you used with A Path Appears during the activity? The pre-reading strategies that I use with A Path Appears are, looking for the key ideas, do some researched on the author, sometimes I check at the preface, google the book title to find reviews on it, check the summary of the book (placed behind the book) and check the main characters.  2) What are your impressions of the book so far, based on the limited pre-reading you've done? What is the book generally talking about? What genre do you think it is?  The book doesn't seem to big at first sight. From reading the summary I am interested of knowing and bit more of what it is talking about specifically. I defiantly do want to take my time to read this book and understand what the story is going lead me. The book talks about making a dif...
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ACT OF READING Paulo Freire Summary: "The importance of the Act of Reading" written originally by Paulo Freire in Portuguese and translated by Loretta Slover in English, talks about the importance of the act of reading through his experiences in his childhood, teenager and young adult life. Freire explains what he felt about his memories and uses detailed imaginary to describe all the things he seen when he was younger that he still recognizes couple years after. Throughout his writing, he shows that it is possible to view objects and experiences as texts, words and letters to develop knowledge and awareness in the world. Quotes: " Some of the trees were like persons to me, such the intimacy between us. In their shadow I played, and in the branches susceptible to me height I experiences at the small risk which prepared for greater risks and adventures.
