Internal combustion engine: engine in case to burn: gas, etc To make energy => replacement of humans Industrial Revolution is one of the third most important development in human history. The difference was: the organization of production/work, % human work : machine work, people figured how to burn things to make energy as a result to make production more efficient. In class we used 2 examples for a better understanding of how the Industrial Revolution works: Jerry and Jim. Sam Pastol Chapter 15 - Cultural Transformations Religion and Science The Early Modern Era gave birth to two intersecting cultural trends: Spread of Christianity to Asians, Africans & Native Americans and Emergence of a modern scientific outlook which challenges Christianity. On page 644, the textbook talks about Christianity as a worldwide religion; specific parts in the Americas, Philippines, Siberia, China, Japan and India. Yet this religion isn't practiced in the Islamic World. Christianity was divided by two categories: Roman Catholic in Western & Central Europe and Eastern Orthodox in Eastern Europe & Russia. Atlantic Revolutions, Global Echoes Chapter 16 focuses on the Atlantic Revolutions which were revolutionary waves between the late eighteenth and early's nineteenth century. Thus the Atlantic revolutions in North America, France, Haiti, and Latin America took place within a larger global frame work. The North American Revolution (1775 - 1787) The North American Revolution was a conflict between Great Britain and the British North American colonies. It started out as a colonial revolt against the mercantile and economic policies of the British North America. Tension between the colonist and the British government were growing which is what caused this revolt. The government wanted to control over colonial affairs, trade and commerce.  They first began by passing new laws and taxes in attempt to make money off the colonies to help pay off these debts.
